The announcement marks a strategic moment for Upwind, which has emerged as a trailblazer in cloud-native application protection (CNAPP) solutions. The company recently reported 4,000% year-over-year revenue growth in 2024, 40% customer expansion, and over 30 product updates in Q1 2025 alone. Sethi’s appointment strengthens Upwind’s commitment to real-time, context-aware cloud security.

“Rinki Sethi is one of the world’s most respected security executives,” said Amiram Shachar, CEO and Co-founder of Upwind. “Her decision to join Upwind validates our belief that the future of cloud security lies in real-time, runtime-first detection and protection.”

Sethi has held senior security roles at eBay/PayPal, BILL, and currently serves on the boards of Vaultree and ForgeRock. She is also a founding partner at Lockstep Ventures, investing in next-gen cybersecurity startups. As an early customer of Upwind, Sethi brings both strategic insight and hands-on experience with the platform’s runtime-powered approach.

“As a CISO, I’ve felt the frustration of static dashboards that fail to keep pace with real-time incidents,” said Rinki Sethi. “Upwind’s ability to provide live, actionable insights grounded in runtime context is a game-changer. I’m excited to help lead the charge toward proactive, intelligent cloud defense.”
